How is this any different from the free apps?+

Khan Academy isn't CAPS-aligned. FoondaMate is helpful but lives in WhatsApp, with no structured lessons, quizzes, or progress tracking. Biemo combines the structure of a textbook, the practice of a workbook, and the warmth of a tutor — for less than the cost of a Showmax mobile sub.

What if my child won't actually use it?+

Fair worry — it's the #1 reason parents hesitate. Two things help. First, the lessons are short (under 5 minutes), so “just five minutes” is a real commitment. Second, the AI tutor responds without judgement, which is the biggest reason children stop opening apps. If they don't use it for two weeks on the free tier, please cancel — we'd rather you did.

Is the AI safe for my child to talk to?+

Yes. The tutor is restricted to educational topics, never asks personal questions, never asks for photos, and refuses to discuss anything off-topic. Every conversation is logged and visible in the parent dashboard. The underlying model is Claude (by Anthropic), the same family of models major SA banks use for customer support.

What if marks don't actually move?+

How much data does it eat on my cell?+

About 8 MB per lesson on average — equivalent to maybe one WhatsApp voice note. Videos can be paused and resumed. Audio explanations cache for offline replay (Pro tier). Tested down to entry-level Android phones on 3G.

Can I add my other kids?+

Yes — Pro includes up to 3 learner profiles per household for R49/month total. They share the subscription but each get separate dashboards, separate progress tracking, separate AI tutor conversations. Three children on Biemo costs less than one hour with a tutor.

Where is my child's data stored?+

South African Azure data centres (Johannesburg). Subject to POPIA. Never sold. Never shared with advertisers. Subject access requests honoured within 30 days. You can delete your child's entire account history with one tap.
